Challenge
Product operational capacity was constrained due to initial development oversights and technology limitations resulting in bloated support obligations and crippled job processing. Envision Technology Solutions (ETS) was tasked with reducing support time and maximizing job throughput by re-architecting server-side application components and optimizing SQL performance.

Impact

ETS was able to drastically reduce support obligations and maximize throughput by analyzing database performance bottlenecks and re-engineering job listeners. A benchmark job showed ETS was able to reduce job processing time from 8-14 hours to 2 hours on average. Implementations were limited to one (1) job listener per server which created synchronous job processing and stretched daily operations. The re-engineered job listener was able to run within multiple instances to parallel process tasks and more effectively utilized CPU cycles—quadrupled individual server load capacity.
